A stabbing occurred at a Detroit bus stop of two people after somebody had asked if they were Muslim. A 39 year old man named Terrence Lavaron Thomas was charged with attempted murder, drug possession, and a weapon charge. The two victims of this assault where in their 50s. One of the men was stabbed 5 time in the face and the neck and another 3 times in his back. The other man was only stabbed in the hand while trying to break up the fight. Neither of these two men's injuries were life threatening and have already been released from the hospital. The police chief, Hawkins, asked if they knew each other at all but they did not. He also states that Thomas asked some people at the bus stop if the two men where Muslim or not. After the people said no Thomas "became upset by that answer, saying he was Muslim and it was not acceptable that they were not." Thomas is being tried for a possible hate crime and is to later be determined.
