Florida mother held hostage uses online pizza order to ask for help

Cheryl Treadway was being held hostage in Florida by her 26 year old boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson. Treadway and her three children were all in their house just returning from school that evening when Nickerson was threatening all four of them with a knife. This was the result of them fighting all day. Treadway had begged her boyfriend to order a pizza from Pizza Hut and when he let him she had added a comment that said that they are all being held hostage at knife point and need police. The police were contacted by the manager of Pizza Hut and the police showed up to save all four of the people unharmed. Nickerson was sent to jail for battery, aggressive assault with a weapon, and bail posted at 45 thousand dollars.

U.S Warships to Monitor Ships Traveling from Iran

The U.S has deployed warships to Yemen to survey any ship leaving Iran that could be suspected for illegally moving guns to Houthi rebels. The U.S doesn't however has direct authority to board Iran flagged ships. This is probably due to that earlier in the month the U.S boarded a Panamanian ship that was suspected of trafficking people, drugs, and guns but nothing was found. However, the U.S may board Iranian ships if they proceed into Yemen waters. “U.S. warships from the carrier group of the USS Theodore Roosevelt are joining allied vessels from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other partner nations prepared to intercept a convoy of 7-9 Iranian vessels believed headed for Yemen.” said Jim. The U.S hope to catch many ships transporting guns illegally.

North Korea to Mexico: Give Us Back Our Ship

Recently North Korea accused Mexico of holding one of their cargo ships, Mu Du Bong, illegally.  Mexico said as of Wednesday, that they were just following standard protocol because the ship could have been considered a threat. The company that owned the ship was North Korea's Ocean Maritime Management company. “The Security Council blacklisted Ocean Maritime Management in July, saying it "played a key role in arranging the shipment of concealed arms and related materiel" on another ship, the Chong Chon Gang, which was detained by Panama in 2013.” North Korea said that by keeping the crew members of the ship from their families that it was violating their human rights. The 33 members of the ship were then freed after months of being held in mexico but North Korea had to pay a $666,666 fine for the release of the cargo ship.

Singer David Crosby hits jogger with car

Singer David Crosby hit a jogger with his car going around 50 miles per hour in California near where David lives. The jogger had suffered from many injuries and had to be airlifted away from the scene to the hospital. So far his injuries don’t seem to be life threatening but will later be determined. Crosby was being very cooperative with the police and was not under the influence from any illegal substances. He said that the sun was in his eyes and simply didn't see the jogger. Supposedly the jogger was running on the wrong side of the road and the rest of the story will be later determined.

Police suspect hate crime in stabbings at Detroit-area bus stop

A stabbing occurred at a Detroit bus stop of two people after somebody had asked if they were Muslim. A 39 year old man named Terrence Lavaron Thomas was charged with attempted murder, drug possession, and a weapon charge. The two victims of this assault where in their 50s. One of the men was stabbed 5 time in the face and the neck and another 3 times in his back. The other man was only stabbed in the hand while trying to break up the fight. Neither of these two men's injuries were life threatening and have already been released from the hospital. The police chief, Hawkins, asked if they knew each other at all but they did not. He also states that Thomas asked some people at the bus stop if the two men where Muslim or not. After the people said no Thomas "became upset by that answer, saying he was Muslim and it was not acceptable that they were not." Thomas is being tried for a possible hate crime and is to later be determined.
